My Latino Voice spoke with Ximena Navarrete, the reigning Miss Universe 2010, at the Miss Universe Organization offices in New York City.
From the land of "tequila and mariachis," this brunette beauty from Guadalajara is representing Latinas around the globe. And she's leaving a striking impression behind; recently she was named a spokesperson for Go Red Por Tu Corazon and was dubbed the newest "Madrina" in the Fight Against AIDS by the Latino Commission on AIDS. On a rainy New York City day, Ximena spoke about her warm and sunny south-of-border origins, her journey to the crown and current ambitions. She also explains why Latinas seem to always finish first at the biggest beauty pageant in the world and what "Latino" means to her.
