Is Miss Universe always having a bad day?!

I am not sure exactly what the Miss Universe Organization is trying to achieve with these videos. Yes, they are “keeping it real” but I am not sure if I like the fact that they are trying to make news/headlines for all the wrong reasons.

It seems like Ximena is always complaining or whining about something and this doesn’t make her particularly attractive. I am wondering if this is being done by the Miss Universe Organization because some complained that Ximena is boring. Maybe they are trying to give her some “edge”. Well, if that’s the case, I PREFER THE “BORING” GORGEOUS Miss Universe.

I like seeing what Miss Universe gets up to during her reign and I think they have the right idea with letting the fans in, and bringing them closer to their Miss Universe – but some of these videos are bordering on being tacky and distasteful. Do they really want Miss Universe to sit in her apartment in New York all the time?! At this rate, no titleholder will get invited to appearances. If I were running an international organization, I would not invite Miss Universe as you never know what you will look like at the end. Seems like Ximena would love to stay in New York and sleep. Darling, you have a lot of time to sleep after September 12.

Seeing Miss Universe moan and complain is not particularly pleasant. We all know that pageants aren’t exactly what they used to be and they should be delighted to get any form of attention so complaining about cameras in your face is just a big no-no. You are Miss Universe. You beat 80 other girls who would gladly step in your shoes and love the experience.

The India video was shocking as it appears that at times, there’s disrepect for the culture. When you go abroad, you can criticize quietly but not send it out for the world to see. Aren’t you supposed to be Miss Universe and representing all nations?! As for Thailand, yeah I understand your frustration. Travel delays are never pleasant and hanging around in a small room in an airport can be torture. But seriously, who doesn’t check if they need a visa?!

Actually, I don’t really blame Ximena for all of this. She’s just a young girl. In a way I think she’s just trying to do what is asked of her and maybe the guys who complained that she is boring are now getting what they asked for. As for the Miss Universe Organization who is behind this: What are you doing?! Sometimes I don’t understand how you operate. Is there really no better way to keep it real than to put stuff like this on. I am not saying Ximena needs to nod and smile and just act like Mother Teresa the whole time, but she’s Miss Universe – not the Queen of England… don’t portray this kind of image of her. I often wonder what you are doing with the brand. I WANT TO SEE MISS UNIVERSE IN THE HEADLINES but for the right reasons. I have always loved pageants but the direction the MUO is taking with their pageants is making me concerned. This could eventually mean the end of pageants. You’ve got to move ahead with the times, and kudos for that… but you don’t have to throw away the style and class along the way. She can be seen being unhappy or complaining in a video but mix it up with her laughing, being happy, and how about some bloopers or interesting experiences that happen along the way. You may say what you want about how boring Miss World is but one thing you will never see is their titleholders showing disrespect or complaining about the places they visit.

Being Miss Universe is a once-in-a-lifetime experience – show us what a wonderful journey that is for your titleholders… otherwise they will have a lot of time to spend in their little apartment in New York City.
